To grow peanuts successfully, use true peanut seeds, plant them in a well-draining sandy soil mix in a pot deep enough for the pods to develop underground, and ensure they receive plenty of sunlight and warmth

Key points:

1.  Seed Selection:

Use raw, true peanut seeds for planting; roasted or boiled peanuts will not germinate.

2. Pot Requirements:
  • Choose a pot that is at least 20-25 inches wide and 15-16 inches deep to accommodate the peanut plant's growth.
  • 3. Soil Conditions:
  • Peanut plants thrive in sandy soil with good drainage. A mix of 50% garden soil, 30% compost, and 20% river sand or perlite is recommended.
  • 4. Planting:
  • Plant peanut seeds directly into the pot, about 2 inches deep, with 6 to 8 inches of space between each seed.
  • 5. Watering:
  • Keep the soil moist but not soggy. Water regularly, especially during hot weather.
  • 6. Sunlight:
  • Place the pot in a sunny location where it receives at least 6 hours of sunlight daily.
  • 7. Harvesting:
  • Peanuts are ready to harvest when the foliage turns yellow. Check readiness by inspecting a few pods; if they are mature, they will be dry and brittle. Harvest by gently digging around the plant and pulling it up with the roots and pods.
